We co-create each session, working within 60 or 90 minute session constraints. The type of work we do is a result both of your words and what your tissue conveys.
The modalities I draw from include:
CST is a gentle, hands-on method of whole body evaluation and treatment that can have a positive impact on nearly every system of the body. It encourages the body's own ability to self-correct and has shown to benefit a wide variety of issues and situations including TMJ, migraines, back pain, and pregnancy. This is done clothed.
Visceral Manipulation is based on the specific placement of soft manual forces to encourage the normal mobility, tone and motion of the viscera and their connective tissues. These gentle manipulations can potentially improve the functioning of individual organs, the systems the organs function within, and the structural integrity of the entire body. Harmony and health exist when motion is free and excursion is full - when motion is not labored, overexcited, depressed, or conflicting with neighboring structures and their mobility.
SE is a way of working with a person’s nervous system to increase resilience and capacity to enjoy the present. With attention to sensation, image and other aspects of what is happening, and sometimes touch, the overwhelming or traumatic aspects in a person’s life can be more easily integrated, filling day-to-day experiences with more freedom and choice. This work can be done clothed, in-person, or virtually. I am currently trained through the intermediate year and look forward to advanced training.
This work focuses on the connective tissue or fascia in the body. Whether the touch is light or deep, the aim is to break up places that are stuck, dehydrated, and immobile. Following a person’s tissue as it unwinds means less pain and strain found in the unique way their body is seeking relief. Since the fascia forms a 3-D web, uniting structures all throughout the body, this relief is often felt in unexpected places. Included in this is specific work on scar tissue. This work can be done partially clothed.
Combining principles of Swedish, Deep Tissue and Trigger Point Therapy, these sessions focus on releasing muscular tension. They can be wonderful ways to reconnect to your body, follow up after physical exertion, and opportunities to learn what else could be possible in your body’s experience.
